Understanding how
teams connect, evolve,
and perform.

I study the interpersonal fabric of teams — how relationships, conflict, and interdependence unfold over time — using a network and dynamic-systems lens to explain when collaboration helps and when it hurts.

01 — Research Identity

Teams as living patterns of interaction.

Most team research treats a group as the sum of its members. My work reframes the team as an evolving web of relationships — who trusts, conflicts with, and depends on whom — and traces how those patterns shift moment to moment to shape performance.

Drawing on social-network analysis, dynamic modeling, and multiteam-systems research, I develop theory and methods that capture what static measures miss: the timing, structure, and micro-foundations of how people actually work together.

04 — Teaching

Teaching across every level.

From doctoral seminars that train the next generation of scholars to MBA and undergraduate courses that bring organizational behavior to future managers, I translate rigorous team science into practical, level-appropriate learning.

Recognized four times by Iowa's graduating seniors for making a positive difference; Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award, UConn.

05 — For Practitioners

Team science, put to work.

My research is grounded in real organizations — emergency-response systems, action teams, and the changing role of AI in collaboration. I partner with practitioners who want evidence-based answers to hard questions about how their teams work.
